Upside down pizza

Make a little change and make your pizza special – make upside down pizza. Kids (and grown ups, too) will love it!

For your upside down pizza can use just about everything, veggies, meat, cheese,… and top it with pita bread or make the dough yourself. The recipe is really easy and if you have leftovers, you can use them the next day.


  • Shredded mozzarella or provolone
  • 8 inch rounds of pita bread, left whole
  • Quartered pepperoni slices
  • Diced tomatoes
  • Sliced mushrooms
  • 1 diced onion
  • Italian herbs
  • Parmesan cheese for garnish
  • 1 diced bell pepper

  1. Preheat a small skillet or omelette pan. Add pepperoni, veggies, and seasonings. Stir for a minute until crisp and tender and then add cheese.
  2. Place pita on top of the cooked mixture and press firmly. Carefully invert a flat plate over the pan. Holding pan and plate firmly together, flip pizza onto plate.
  3. Top with grated parmesan. Cut into wedges and serve.
