Gratinated Cauliflower

Gratinated cauliflower is an excellent side dish to meat and fish. Together with a large bowl of salad it becomes a great lunch or dinner.


  • 700 g cauliflower
  • 2 large eggs
  • 180 g sour cream
  • 1 dl milk
  • 80 g grated Parmesan cheese
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 2 pinches of freshly ground pepper
  • 2 pinches of ground nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon butter the grease the dish

Gratinated cauliflower is an excellent side dish to meat and fish.


  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Clean and wash cauliflower and split into chunks. On a stove, heat a pot with salted water. When the water boils, pour it in pieces of cauliflower and cook for about 10 minutes.
  2. Ovenproof dish grease well with butter. In a bowl, whisk together by hand, mix eggs, milk, 2/3 grated Parmesan cheese and sour cream. Add to taste pepper, salt and nutmeg.
  3. After 10 minutes of cooking, drain cauliflower and pour into an ovenproof dish. Pour it with a mixture of eggs, cheese and sour cream. On the top sprinkle remainder of grated Parmesan cheese, then push in preheated oven and bake for about 25 to 30 minutes.
